Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible for this site

I am a sole trader (Einzelunternehmer) and I am the only person who processes data for this site. See the Impressum for the full statutory details.

2. The planner: nothing is sent to me

The plans and measurements you create in the free planner are stored only in your own browser, using a local database technology called IndexedDB. They are never sent to any server, including mine. If you clear your browser's site data, or use a different device or browser, your plans do not come with you, because I never had a copy.

The site also keeps a small offline copy of its own basic pages on your device, using your browser's Cache Storage, so the planner can still open if you have no signal. This copy contains no personal data: only the site's own static files.

3. The waitlist for Box Fit Pro

If you tick the box and give me your email address on the Box Fit Pro page, I store:

• your email address
• the language you were using
• the price shown to you at the time (so there is a record of what you agreed to)
• the date and time you signed up
• a short tag showing roughly where you came from (for example, a launch post or a direct visit). I do not store which page referred you, only this short tag.

I do not store your IP address. It is used only for a short time, in memory, to stop the form being abused, and is never written to any file.

Why I ask for your address: so I can email you if and when Box Fit Pro is ready, or once, if I decide not to build it. Nothing else, ever. I never sell or pass on your address to anyone.

The legal basis for holding your address is your consent, given by ticking the box. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to hello@boxfitlabs.com, and I will delete your address. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything already done before you withdrew it.

How long I keep it: until Box Fit Pro ships and the notification has been sent, or twelve months from your signup if it has not shipped by then, whichever comes first. Storing an address indefinitely with no plan to use it is not something I am allowed to do, so this will not be left open ended.

4. Basic visit statistics

This site counts visits using GoatCounter, software I run myself on my own server, so no visit data goes to any other company. It does not use tracking cookies, and it does not store your IP address: the address is briefly used to work out whether a visit is likely to be new or repeat, and is then discarded rather than saved.

5. The server this site runs on

This site runs on a server I rent in Germany. Your data does not leave the EU.

This site does not keep a log of individual visits: request logging in the reverse proxy in front of it is switched off. What it does log instead (its own start-up and error messages, with no visitor data in them) is overwritten automatically once it reaches a small fixed size, not kept for a set number of days.

6. Your rights

You can ask me, at any time, by writing to hello@boxfitlabs.com:

• what I hold about you (access)
• to correct anything wrong (rectification)
• to delete what I hold about you (erasure)
• to limit what I do with it (restriction)
• to object to my use of it
• for a copy of it in a portable format (portability), where that applies
• to withdraw consent, where consent is the basis, at any time and without it affecting anything done before the withdrawal

If you think I have got this wrong, you can complain to the German supervisory authority for Bavaria, the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.

7. Automated decisions

Nothing on this site makes an automated decision about you, and nothing on it profiles you.

8. Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
